Coming from the Mâlain mine in Burgundy, France, this piece highlights a nodule of gypsum orange. The nodule is freed from its gangue and polished.
This mine, inaccessible today, contains rare formations of nodule gypsum and white radial gypsum trapped in clay marls.
This 409 gram specimen measures 10.6 cm wide by 6.5 cm high and 6 cm thick.
