This very colourful piece is fossilised wood, preserved by opaline silica, tinted with copper and manganese.
It comes from a petrified forest discovered at the foot of Mount Tjikolak in 2017 in Indonesia.
This specimen measures 11 cm at its longest, 10 cm wide and 6 cm thick.
It weighs 442 grams.
