This piece highlights a polished gypsum nodule, resting on a piece of marl.
Salmon-colored, it comes from the Mâlain mine in Burgundy, France.
This mine, now inaccessible, contains rare formations of gypsum in nodule and white radial gypsum caught in clay marls.
This 370 gram specimen measures 9.7 cm wide by 7.4 cm high and 7.4 cm thick (marl).
